Performer Rejects Anti-Vaccine Stance Following Lending His Voice To Disputed Coronavirus Documentary

The acclaimed actor has lent his voice to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the safety of vaccinations and commends one-time cabinet secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Documentary's Contentious Origins

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is inspired by a bestselling book co-authored by a disgraced researcher, who gained notoriety during the global outbreak for assertions that the illness was linked to a problematic version of the seasonal immunization.

The publication's writing partner, Kent Heckenlively, has penned books with far-right radio host a known commentator. He recently posted celebrating Neeson's involvement in the film.

An Unequivocal Denial

Representatives for Liam Neeson have issued a statement pushing back against claims that he supports anti-vaccine beliefs.

"Many recognize that misconduct can exist within the medical sector, but that must not be conflated with rejection of vaccines," the comment explains. "He is not, and remains not, anti-vaccination. His considerable work with the global charity reinforces his consistent support for public-health initiatives."

The statement added that the performer had no hand in the project's editorial content and that inquiries about its claims are best addressed to the creators.

Key Assertions Within the Feature

According to the documentary, the voiceover spoken by Neeson makes several strong points:

  • It states that pro-immunization voices have demanded "complete compliance" to health authorities.
  • It posits that "research has become highly politicised."
  • RFK Jr is featured stating, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they simply are not adequately tested."
  • It also criticizes Covid lockdowns, arguing they caused severe distress that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • Concerning pandemic shots, it mentions a perspective that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "dangerous experiments."

Past Context and Ongoing Issues

It includes a past television report about HIV drug testing on children, which was later the topic of a BBC apology by the broadcaster for violations of guidelines.

In recent weeks, Kennedy called on the CDC to change its longstanding position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This claim is echoed in the film, despite a new report from the WHO confirming no evidence has been found.

A Previous Record of Advocacy

Contrasting the film's narrative, Neeson has previously shown clear advocacy for vaccines in his role as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

In 2022, he described vaccines as "an incredible achievement," stating that "The debate about vaccines in recent years has lost sight of how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in history."

The film ends with Neeson's narration proclaiming, "This marks not the finish of our journey. This is the start of a fresh chapter."
